New Life Thrift Store News – December, 2010

Wow – has the time flown by this year, 2010 is coming to an end and we will are looking towards 2011 with all its blessing that are in store. The Board and Staff at the New Life Thrift Store wants to take this opportunity to thank each of you that so generously gave time and talents to make this establishment a success. When it is a success our schools are blessed through financial gifts from it. In the past five years we have exceeded $507,000.00 in gifts to the five members of the South Suburban Christian Schools; South Christian High School, Byron Center Christian, Dutton Christian, Legacy Christian and Moline Christian – blessing more than 2100 students!!

The Board of the store along with the supporting five schools will be implementing a new strategy in order to help acquire volunteers more efficiently. Going forward each school will be responsible for filling volunteer slots for two months of the year. A person from each school will be making phone calls to schedule shifts during the schools assigned months. In this way parents will not be getting calls all year long. This has more of a “fund-raiser” flavor to it, since each school is financially supported with thousands of dollars from the NLTS. Please answer the call for help from your school caller.

Thank you to the parents who make the phone calls to line up the volunteers. Thank you to all who volunteer their time. Remember, each parent that volunteers equate to fewer hours the store has to employ someone, which directly affects the amount of money that comes back to the schools.

Five Years of giving individual schools results:
